How to take on Quality Staff that last in 2011

When recruiting new staff, it is important that the roles and objectives are clear, together with strong guidelines and clarity in the role.

The importance of managing staff is essential in order to get the best out of individuals; and by regular monitoring, good staff can become excellent! This process includes having clear guidelines, goals and regular updates on the role, as well as opportunities for the person to develop in his or her position to keep motivated, interested and challenged.

In any new role there is a learning curve – hence probationary periods are essential for both parties.

PEOPLE SHINE when given opportunities to make a difference and acknowledging good work is as important as pointing out when errors have been made.

After all, none of us are perfect and we all have unique qualities that, when recognised, are beneficial within organisations.

The key is to be consistent AT holding regular reviews with the new appointee,  right from the start, and not just after the probationary period.
